The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme - Silver Award

For more information and course availability please

The Silver Award is run during our Monday and Wednesday classes.  The aim of this Award is to build upon the skills learnt in the Bronze Award, whilst increasing the level of difficulty.  It also introduces new concepts important to everyday life situations i.e. controlled greeting, road walk and vehicle control.  The Silver Award provies handlers with a good knowledge of understaning and training of their canine companion.

HANDOUTS

Handlers are given the following handouts:

  • Silver Award Description including Responsibility & Care

  • Canine Code

For those passing all parts of the test will receive a Good Citizen Dog Scheme Silver Certificate, and a Silver Award Rosette.  The handler also receives a Silver Award pin badge and the dog a Silver Award collar tag.

To bridge the gap between the KC Bronze and the Silver Award, BMC Academy run their own scheme - The Pre-Silver Award.  This prepares the handler and dog from Bronze to the Silver Award standard.  It will be accessed internally and those passing all the test will receive a BMC Academy Certificate and Rosette.
