Well our new adventure into the retail market of selling natural dog treats and chews has started well. After much research, learning, passing Food Safety Level 2 and Food Safety in Manufacturing Level 2, organising, purchasing of products, buying containers, building the Shop Page (still not quite finished), label printing, designing logos and Order Forms, we thought we needed to have some ROI (Return On Investment).
A few of our students have already bought some of the products and given feed-back and have used the training treats in their classes. But we needed to get "out there" as the saying goes. Starting close to home was the surest option and so we decided to try the village market - Marchnad Llansawel! (link to their Facebook Page)
It went well, even though storm Antonio was blowing a gale and pouring rain, like no other, on us all. The villagers and surrounding, stoic market lovers came and perused the stall, and we sold more than I was anticipating. From small acorns do mighty Oak trees grow!
So after this little experiment we will be selling at the Market every month, before we spread our wings further. Thinking about putting some Halloween and Christmas boxes together so that our faithful friends can have a gift of "Doggie Delights - Pawlicious!" Well this has spurred me on to get the SHOP page finished and ready to go for you all.
