Kathleen Stubbings and Karen McCarthy incorporated Dog Dancing Ltd in 2015. Previous to this both ran their own successful dog training schools, but discovering a like-mind they decided that two heads were better than one and pulled their knowledge and experience together!

Originally the business ran in Whitton, London and Lyne, Surrey as the BMC Academy, where Heelwork to Music (HTM) was the main discipline. Together, Kathleen and Karen ran successfully non-Kennel Club HTM shows from 2013 to 2016. This gave enthusiasts and serious competitors of the Sport a vehicle to have a go and practice routines in a competition atmosphere.

The BMC Academy is now a Brand of Dog Dancing Ltd and incorporates all the teaching classes that Dog Dancing Ltd holds.
In 2017 Kathleen moved to Wales and re-established the training side of the business in the Village Hall. Setting up HTM classes was the primary goal, but with the success of the classses, Dog Dancing Ltd became a Listed Status training Academy with the Kennel Club for their Good Citizen Scheme, Heelwork to Music training and Rally Obedience training. Due to popular demand from the Academy students Ringcraft lessons were also added.

Karen's role in the business continues on a consultancy level helping develop the role of the Academy in Wales and how it can develop to serve the local communities in the future. She still runs her own successful Grooming, Doggie Day Care and Dog Training Business near London.

Both Kathleen and Karen use clicker training as their main passion of dog training but will use reward based, positive methods too. Encouragement and fun is a positive energy behind both methods of training which help students and their dogs to grow and bond together. We are passionate in our education of how people and dogs learn so that both can benefit and be successful owners and companions.
